Add Some Sweetness to Your Life with Honey 🍯

Honey is a great natural source of sweetness. How can having honey positively affect you and your life?

Honey can increase insulin and release serotonin (the “happy hormone”). As Rene Ficek* had told Medical Daily, the serotonin in the body is converted into melatonin, which helps regulate sleep.1 Because it helps sleep, it can be used to help cure insomnia2, 3, which is a symptom of depression2 and anxiety3.

How do you enjoy honey? Here are some of my favorite ways:

1. Just take a teaspoon of honey.

When you have a jar or other container of honey, taking a teaspoon out and eating it is probably the easiest way of having honey. Just don’t forget to wipe the top of the jar or container first before putting or screwing the lid back on so that it doesn’t get stuck the next time you open it.

2. Have some honey with yogurt (and any other topping you’d like).

If you’d like, take some yogurt, a teaspoon of honey, and any other topping(s) you’d like, and mix them together. Enjoy the flavored yogurt one spoon at a time.

3. Mix it in your tea.

When making yourself some tea, mix some honey into your tea before drinking. Not only will you have sweeter tea, but you’ll also be able to take advantage of the benefits.

4. Blend it into your smoothie.

No matter what type of smoothie you like to drink, blend in some honey. You’ll enjoy its taste and fulfill your sweet craving.

5. Have some honey butter.

As the name suggests, honey butter is a spread made of honey and butter, though you can put other ingredients like cinnamon if you’d like. Use it over your oatmeal, fresh berries, pancakes, ice cream, toast, or anything else you’d like.

However you have honey, enjoy it. It’s sweet and can help you feel better. You need some sweetness in your life; otherwise, life is too bitter! 😃
