“Friendship isn’t about whom you’ve known the longest… It’s about who came and never left your side.”
Friends are great people. You’ll never know where or when you’ll meet them or what happens that makes you want to develop a friendship.
Every country celebrates Friendship Day on a different day. In the US and India, Friendship Day falls on the same day – the first Sunday of August every year. (This year, it’s on August 4, 11 days from today.)
No matter where you are and when your country celebrates Friendship Day, remember to think about what makes your friends amazing.
Here are five reasons to add to your list:
1. They help make staying away from home easier.
When you’re traveling alone and/or you aren’t where you call home, you have friends to help you find comfort in the absence of your loved ones.
2. They help you make memories.
With your friends, you laugh at jokes or things you wouldn’t laugh at with others. You go places together and do things you enjoy together. In the process, you’ll be making fond memories that’ll last you a lifetime.
3. They’re like a reality check.
Good friends are always going to be honest with you. They’ll speak their mind and point out what doesn’t look right or looks strange or bad, whereas a family member may not.
4. When you have a problem, they’ll have a solution.
Friends always seem to come up with a solution to your problems, big or small, or they’ll know someone who does. With them, problems can be solved pretty easily.
5. They help lower stress.
With your friends, you’re enjoying yourself and having a good time. It eases any pain you’re going through, which helps lower your stress. That’ll help you decrease your chances of depression and naturally be happier!
What makes your friends amazing? Don’t forget to share it with them on Friendship Day!
