Smiles are amazing!
They express happiness, and even if you’re not happy, you just have to fake it ’till you make it! The simple act of smiling will make you feel happy, even if you weren’t before.
Need some reasons to smile? Keep on reading!
1. Summer’s almost here, and weather’s getting nice out!
With the exception of a few gloomy days in between, the sun’s out. The days are bright and longer, and it gives us a reason to go out and take things outside. Take some time to enjoy it while it lasts, and in the process, you’ll start smiling, too!
2. Graduation season!
Whether you, friends, or a family member just graduated (or are soon to graduate) from high school or college, it’s time to celebrate! Through parties, socializing with family and friends, going out to lunch or dinner (or both), or just treating yourself, it’s time to celebrate your achievements and accomplishments.
3. Shopping sales!
Whether you took advantage of the Memorial Day sales or your shopping spree will be during the Fourth of July sales, if you love shopping, you’re probably looking forward to taking advantage of the discounted prices and do what you love.
4. Go to the movies!
This summer, like summers in the past, there are many movies in theaters like Pope Francis – A Man of His Word (PG, released May 18), Show Dogs (PG, released May 18), and The Incredibles 2 (PG, to be released June 15). Go with friends and with family – a great way to spend time with others away from home!
5. You have more free time!
You have the chance to do what you didn’t have time for before! Whether you were in school or college, or you were working, you have the chance to take some time off and do something else, like learn something new, try working somewhere or do an internship (if you’re a student), relax, and enjoy! Take a day off (or as much as you want!) to allow yourself to take a break from your normal, day-to-day routine.
6. Independence Day is coming soon!
July 4th is coming up soon! Don’t forget to make your plans for Independence Day this year, whether you’ll be with your friends or family, at home or traveling. Attend the annual National Independence Day Parade in Washington D.C., see historical reenactments in Philly, have a picnic, have a bonfire, see fireworks in your local area (or in a city, or on TV), have another celebration of your choice, or a combination of everything!
These, and many more things, are reasons to smile! If you’re not smiling already, don’t forget that it’s never too late, and it’s always possible. It’s one of the best things you can do!
